IRONMAN Lanzarote is considered one of the toughest IRONMAN courses in the world, with relentless winds and volcanic terrain on the Canary Island. The ocean swim is in Playa Grande, the bike battles trade winds across lava fields, and the run follows the coastline. Founded in 1992, it is a bucket-list race for serious triathletes. Distances: 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km run.
