Challenge Wānaka takes place on 20 February 2027 at Lake Wānaka, New Zealand. It is organized by Challenge Family. The main race is the Challenge 100, a middle distance triathlon with a 2 km swim, 80 km bike and 18 km run. An aqua bike option covers the 2 km swim and 80 km bike, and a Tri Together option is also available.
The swim is in Lake Wānaka. The bike is a three-lap out-and-back along the lake edge, and the run follows the lake front. The event page describes it as New Zealand's largest triathlon festival, with over 2,500 participants. Challenge Family named it its 2024 Most Eco-Friendly Race.
The Puzzling World Junior Challenge is for children in Years 1 to 6, with a 150-200 m swim, 1-3 km bike and 250 m-2 km run. The entry includes a medal, a finisher t-shirt and a swim cap. The page text refers to 2026 for the medal and t-shirt, so check the official website for 2027 details.
